Record the programme, intake, study mode and intended funding scheme. Read the admission instructions and the award instructions separately. Note whether funding consideration is automatic, requires nomination or needs an additional form. An academic offer alone is not evidence of a funding award.
Work backwards from the earlier requirement
Sheffield’s 2027/28 AHRC competition requires a study application by 14 December 2026, followed by a separate funding application by 19 February 2027 at 17:00 GMT. The funding form requires the study application number and must be completed in one sitting. Waiting for the later date would miss the admission requirement.
Allow for nomination and references
Reading’s international competition requires an admission application and a separate studentship form by 15 January 2027, with selection first within Schools. ARU’s CAM-DTP route includes interview and nomination steps; nomination does not guarantee funding. Ask the department about internal preparation dates and leave time for references.
Check the actual route before submitting
Follow the current university instructions for the named intake. If a portal closes or the linked form shows a different start date, seek clarification before relying on the advertised deadline. Keep a copy of your submitted documents and the confirmation supplied by the application service. Opening a form does not establish that submission works.
