The Research Opportunity

Prepare for doctoral research in management through Cambridge Judge’s MRes/PhD route. Admission is highly selective. The School describes conditional scholarship support for admitted applicants who accept their offer within the stated period.

Use the MRes as preparation for a chosen doctoral specialisation. The application process includes developing a research proposal after initial review.

What the Funding Covers

All admitted MRes/PhD places cover fees and maintenance for MRes year and PhD duration, subject to applying for all relevant funding and timely offer acceptance. School covers funding shortfall and raises maintenance to research-council level. Unresolved: exact 2027/28 stipend and award-specific duration in written offer.

Published Requirements

Normally a first-class undergraduate degree or overseas equivalent and a relevant academic Master’s with a top-5% ranking, from a university or department with a strong research reputation. Professional practice degrees such as an MBA or MFin do not meet the stated Master’s requirement. Check pathway-specific requirements.
